Private by design
The audio is processed on your device by the browser's Web Audio API. Your voice is not recorded, uploaded, or stored anywhere — close the tab and the session is gone.
A practice aid, not a verdict
Background noise, microphone placement, and room acoustics all affect the reading. Voice-type labels are a rough guide based on range alone — they don't define you as a singer. Sing a few times on different days for the most reliable result.

How do I find my vocal range with this test?
Press start, allow microphone access, then sing or hum from your lowest comfortable note up to your highest. The tool tracks every detected note and shows your lowest and highest across the session, plus your total range in octaves.
Does the vocal range test work on my phone?
Yes. It works in recent versions of iOS Safari and Android Chrome, as well as desktop Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. The page must be served over HTTPS and you need to allow microphone access when prompted.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. The test is free and runs entirely in your browser. There is no account, no upload, and no app install required to use it. Your voice is processed on your device and is not recorded.
How accurate is the pitch detection?
The tool uses YIN pitch detection in your browser, with a 2048-sample analysis window, filtering, and note-and-cents feedback. Background noise, microphone quality, and room acoustics can still affect individual readings, so sing a few times for the most reliable range.
What is a vocal range and why does it matter for singers?
Your vocal range is the span from the lowest note you can sing comfortably to the highest. Knowing it helps you pick songs and keys that suit your voice instead of straining. The Singers AI app lets you change a song’s key to fit your range and practise in it.
Does this tool recommend songs for my range?
No. This test measures your range; it does not match you to songs. To prepare a song in your range, use the Singers AI app’s Song Practice Workspace to transpose the key and the Digital Songbook to keep each song’s key and scale saved.
